When can I apply for the SSDW?

The application period for the SSDW 2024 ended on May 15th, 2024, (11:59 pm UTC+02:00).

The application period for the SSDW 2025 will be announced on our website and social media in February and starts usually around April.

Can I get travel support?

Thanks to our sponsors and supporters we were happy to financially support our participants in the past. The amount
of support changes from year to year and cannot be predicted.

Do I need to take care of accomodation myself? How will accomodation look like?

If you need accommodation during the workshop, please indicate this in the application form. We will provide you with accommodation. Accommodation will be in double rooms and free of charge for the duration of the workshop.

I am doing my PhD - can I still apply?

Yes!

Do I need to be able to fulfill all requirements on the application page?

Yes. If you cannot fulfill all requirements we cannot admit you to the workshop.

How much personal time do I have during the week of the workshop?

The week is pretty intense. It’s a smart move to relaxe before and after the workshop.

I am a student at the University of Stuttgart or Technical University of Munich. Can I get credits for participating in the workshop?

Yes. You are able to get 3 ECTS by participating in the workshop. You will need to take part in an oral exam.

Can I participate in this workshop online instead of in person?

No, we do not offer online participation.

Can I bring a friend/partner to the workshop?

The workshop itself and the events scheduled throughout the week are only for the workshop participants and not open to externals. Externals are allowed only during the public presentation that is scheduled for the last day of the workshop.
